Welcome to The Larks   

The moment you walk into our Nursery I am sure you will be struck by a sense of what makes us special. A feeling that you have come to a warm and comforting home where you and your child are most welcomed and cared for.  

In its relatively short life-time (The Larks only opened in September 2009) we have earnt ourselves a reputation as the provider of pre-eminent Early Years care and education in the Oxted area. Our First Ofsted inspection took place within three months of our opening and we were delighted to be commended for our ‘high levels of care’, ‘well qualified staff’ and 'effective relationships with parents’. An achievement of which we are justly proud!.  

We have come such a long way since opening because our carefully selected team of unrivalled professionals bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our setting. Their dedication and commitment ensures a safe, friendly and stimulating environment is provided for your child. We only employ the very best staff and all are thoroughly checked. We are registered with Ofsted, and in line with current regulations, will be regularly inspected by both their Early Years specialists and the Early Years Department of the Independent Schools Inspectorate.  

The Larks is part of the Hazelwood School in Oxted, a provider of the finest education since 1890. As you would expect therefore, we understand the value of a good educational start in life, and the invaluable foundations which it lays for each individual child. Indeed, from September 2010 Hazelwood’s Reception Classes (Oak) will be located on The Larks site in order to allow children to progress seamlessly through their Foundation Stage education on the same, familiar site.

We nurture our children through the Early Years Foundation Stage.  We particularly support its emphasis on the ‘unique child’ as we firmly believe every child should be treated as an individual and each child’s strengths should be celebrated and nurtured. We offer a full and enriching experience and curriculum to enable each child to reach their full potential.
